Published plans from $49 Month to month US B2B collections

Versapay Alternative for Small Business and Versapay Competitors Compared

Versapay combines invoicing, payments, cash application and collections for ERP finance teams. If you mainly need overdue B2B invoices chased this month, DebtAgent drafts an escalating email sequence in your company's name, starting at a published $49 a month.

Billed per organization, not per user. Payments go straight to you. You stay the creditor of record.

The short answer

Versapay publishes no price, and ERP Research describes its annual subscription as quote based by invoice volume. DebtAgent is a Versapay alternative for US businesses collecting their own overdue B2B invoices, with published monthly plans of $49, $149, $499 and $898. Starter, Plus and Pro cost $294, $894 and $2,994 a year on yearly billing. Stay with Versapay if you need cash application, an integrated card and ACH portal, deep ERP connections or support for several collectors handling high invoice volumes.

01 What decides the purchase

Six questions to settle before choosing a Versapay alternative

A controller chasing overdue invoices needs a different purchase from an AR department matching payments and coordinating collectors. Compare the tasks you will actually use this month.

01

Can you approve the price today?

Versapay directs buyers to an expert rather than a published subscription price. ERP Research describes annual pricing by invoice volume. DebtAgent shows Starter at $49, Plus at $149, Pro at $499 and Enterprise at $898 a month, so the subscription fits into a budget before a sales conversation.

02

What stands between you and the first email?

DebtAgent includes CSV import on every plan, so you can start with an aging export and review the drafted sequence. Ask Versapay what data preparation, ERP connection and configuration your first collection email requires, and who will do that work.

03

Which modules will someone actually use?

Versapay covers digital invoicing, cash application, collections, reporting, reconciliation and payments. DebtAgent focuses on first-party overdue collections, with friendly, firm and final emails and recovery by aging bucket. If nobody needs payment matching or invoice presentment, compare the collections task separately from the broader suite.

04

Do you need ERP depth or an aging export?

Versapay names NetSuite, Sage Intacct and two Dynamics 365 products, with other systems through APIs or flat files. DebtAgent accepts CSV on every plan. QuickBooks Online and Xero sync require Pro or Enterprise, and the API starts on Pro. Starter does not include accounting sync.

05

Who handles payments and processing fees?

Versapay offers a customer portal with card and ACH acceptance, and payment processing is part of its commercial model. Ask for those rates alongside the subscription. DebtAgent provides a debtor payment page but does not process cards itself. It takes no recovery percentage, while your payment provider's terms still apply.

06

Who will run collections each week?

G2 describes Versapay's reviewers as mostly mid-market, and its broader workflow suits several collectors. DebtAgent is billed per organization rather than per user. An owner or controller can manage overdue follow up while keeping existing accounting and payment systems.

02 How it works

Four checks before the Versapay demo call

Bring an aging report, a module list and a cost checklist so the demo addresses your receivables.

  1. Step 1

Separate overdue follow up from payment matching

Export the aging report and identify accounts needing contact. Separately list payments waiting to be matched to invoices. DebtAgent addresses contact work. Versapay's cash application addresses matching. Decide which problem the subscription must cover.

  2. Step 2

Name the owner of each module

Write down who would use invoice presentment, collections, the payment portal, reconciliation and cash application. Ask each person what work would change. A module without an owner should not become the reason you sign an annual contract.

  3. Step 3

Try the overdue workflow with a real export

Use an accurate CSV of your own B2B receivables to draft a DebtAgent sequence. Read the friendly, firm and final messages, and check the payment page's pay, promise and dispute options. Compare that workflow with what you need to handle before month end.

  4. Step 4

    Request the complete first-year quote

Ask Versapay to itemize subscription, invoice volume assumptions, implementation, integration, payment processing and renewal terms. Confirm which items apply. Compare the total with the published DebtAgent plan covering your debtor count and required connections.

Versapay has broader cash application, payment portal and ERP capabilities. DebtAgent focuses on collections. Obtain a Versapay quote before comparing actual subscription and processing costs.

How much does Versapay cost?

Versapay publishes no subscription price. ERP Research describes an annual subscription quoted by invoice volume, with payment processing alongside the subscription. Its cited unnamed third-party estimate is $50,000 to $150,000 or more annually, while ITQlick shows about $5,423. Neither estimate is verified, so request a written quote.

Bar chart of first-year cost: DebtAgent Starter yearly $294, DebtAgent Plus yearly $894, Chaser Compact annual $2,796, DebtAgent Pro yearly $2,994, ITQlick directory average for Versapay $5,423 unverified, Versapay itself no published price
The Versapay figure is a directory average, not a Versapay price. The other bars are published list prices.

The estimates are roughly tenfold apart even at the lower end of ERP Research's range. Neither is a Versapay figure or a reliable budget for your company. In October 2026, versapay.com/pricing returned a 404, while the site offered Talk with an expert and self-guided tours. Ask which invoice volume, ERP connection and payment mix the quote assumes.

These are subscription comparisons, not identical feature bundles or complete implementation budgets. Chaser's published Compact price comes from chaserhq.com in September 2026. DebtAgent also offers month to month billing, cancelable any month. Check DebtAgent plan prices and limits before choosing the annual discount.

Who are Versapay's main competitors?

Versapay's main competitors to compare are Gaviti, Upflow, Billtrust, Tesorio and Chaser. DebtAgent belongs on the shortlist when overdue collections are the immediate job. Gaviti, Upflow, Billtrust and Tesorio require quotes, while Chaser and DebtAgent publish subscription prices. Choose the shortlist by the modules you need.

Gaviti is quote only and usage based. Upflow sets annual plans by yearly gross invoice value without publishing a subscription price. Read the Gaviti collections comparison and Upflow pricing and alternatives comparison to separate their purchasing models from a published monthly plan.

Billtrust publishes no price. Tesorio is quote only, with Vendr reporting a median contract of $17,644 a year. That median is buyer contract data, not a Versapay price or a Tesorio list price. Our Billtrust alternative guide for small businesses and Tesorio pricing breakdown cover those comparisons.

Chaser Compact costs $259 monthly or $233 per month on annual billing, with Core at $779 and Complete at $1,169 monthly, as published in September 2026. DebtAgent starts at $49 monthly for 50 active debtors. Compare required channels and accounting connections before treating the cheapest subscription as the complete answer.

Is Versapay a good fit for a small business?

Versapay can fit a small business whose receivables need an ERP connection, payment portal and cash application together. It is harder to justify for an owner who mainly needs overdue invoices chased from QuickBooks Online, Xero or a spreadsheet. Match the purchase to the work, not company size alone.

G2 describes Versapay's reviewers as mostly mid-market. A distributor processing incoming payments across many invoices may need its matching capabilities even with a small finance team. A services owner sending overdue reminders may have a narrower requirement.

For DebtAgent, CSV import and the debtor payment page come with every plan. QuickBooks Online and Xero sync are limited to Pro and Enterprise. The QuickBooks accounts receivable automation guide helps distinguish using an export from paying for ongoing sync.

Plus adds analytics, state rule packs, SMS and voice calls through your own messaging account. These features do not turn DebtAgent into cash application or a card processor. The accounts receivable automation overview explains the overdue workflow to compare with the broader suite.

When Versapay is the better buy

Versapay is the better buy when payment matching, card and ACH acceptance, deep ERP integration and coordinated collector work matter as much as overdue reminders. Its Collaborative AR product covers those connected jobs. DebtAgent cannot replace that scope, so a cheaper subscription alone is not a reason to switch.

Versapay combines electronic invoice presentment and payment with collections management, reporting and reconciliation. Its cash application matches payments to open invoices using AI and machine learning.

Its named ERP products include Oracle NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management. Versapay also describes open APIs or flat files for other systems. Manufacturing, wholesale distribution and professional services are named target industries.

For an AR team with several collectors and high invoice volumes, ask the demo team to show your actual payment and invoice workflow. Include a payment that needs matching and an account needing follow up. If those jobs must share a portal and ERP connection, keep Versapay on the shortlist.

How do you start chasing overdue invoices this month?

Start with a current CSV export of your own overdue B2B invoices and draft the collection sequence in DebtAgent. Review the friendly, firm and final emails in your company's name, then check the debtor payment page. Keep your accounting records current while you evaluate whether broader AR automation is necessary.

The customer can pay, promise a date or raise a dispute on that page. Payments go straight to your business. DebtAgent takes no percentage, is not an agency, does not sue and does not run credit scores. Your business remains the creditor of record throughout the follow up.

Use recovery reported by aging bucket, 0 to 30, 31 to 60, 61 to 90 and 90+ days, to review where progress is happening.

Choose Starter for up to 50 active debtors, Plus for up to 250, or Pro for unlimited active debtors and the accounting sync options. Keep the Versapay evaluation open if the work reveals a real cash application or payment portal requirement.

04 Questions people actually ask

Versapay alternative questions

What is the best alternative to Versapay?

DebtAgent fits US owners and controllers collecting their own overdue B2B invoices from $49 a month. Compare Gaviti, Upflow, Billtrust and Tesorio for broader requirements, or Chaser for another published subscription. Keep Versapay if cash application, ERP depth and card or ACH acceptance are essential.

How much does Versapay cost?

Versapay publishes no price. ERP Research describes annual pricing by invoice volume and cites an unnamed third-party estimate of $50,000 to $150,000+ annually. ITQlick shows about $5,423 annually. Neither estimate is verified or a Versapay figure. Request a quote covering subscription and payment processing.

Does Versapay work with QuickBooks?

Versapay names NetSuite, Sage Intacct and Dynamics 365, with other ERPs supported through open APIs or flat files. QuickBooks is not on its named list, so check directly with Versapay rather than assume a native connection. DebtAgent offers QuickBooks Online and Xero sync on Pro and Enterprise, with CSV import on every plan.

Is Versapay an accounts receivable automation tool or a payments company?

Both. Versapay's Collaborative AR includes invoicing, collections, cash application, reporting and reconciliation, alongside ACH and credit card services. Subscription and payment processing both matter to its commercial model. DebtAgent focuses on first-party collections without cash application or its own card processing.

Does DebtAgent charge a percentage of recovered invoices?

No. DebtAgent charges per organization, without recovery percentages or user fees. Payments go straight to your business, and you remain the creditor of record. Your payment provider's processing terms are separate. The debtor payment page does not include card processing in the subscription.

SMS and voice calls are available from Plus through your own messaging account. Starter covers the email sequence, CSV import and debtor payment page. Analytics and state rule packs also start on Plus. QuickBooks Online and Xero sync require Pro or Enterprise, and API access starts on Pro.

05 Security and data

You are handing us your customers' names. Here is what happens to them.

Collections data is unusually sensitive, so we treat it that way: TLS in transit, encrypted storage, a full compliance audit log, and debtor records that are never used to train public models. Card details go to our payment processor and never touch us. Account deletion means delete, everywhere. We are also honest about where we are not yet: no SOC 2 report yet, no invented customer logos or testimonials either.
